Ryan Martin is an award-winning director an editor in Los Angeles, CA. The award was a participation trophy for riding a sheep for 3.2 seconds in the National Western Stock Show's Mutton Bustin’. At the time, the trophy was taller than he was. He retired from sheep-riding shortly thereafter and packed his bags for Hollywood.
At age 5, he moved out to California alone to pursue his dreams as a filmmaker.
He later became very gay, met his boyfriend Nick, and the two created Synthetic PictureHaus; a small YouTube channel that refused to make vlogs or pranks or anything cool. They instead created Wish It Inc.- a serial, genre comedy about Fairy Godmother’s corporate wish-granting service. The two crowdfunded the show and independently produced it. A year later, they created a smaller character-driven series that didn’t involve anybody’s credit cards called Fairy Tale Therapy.
In 2015, Ryan began editing for CollegeHumor; a YouTube channel with over 11 million subscribers and 5 billion lifetime views. Months later, he began directing & editing. In about a year, he’s directed over 60 sketches including the Hot Date series (recently picked up by PopTV for an 8-episode run), the Money For College Game Show with First Lady Michelle Obama in partnership with the White House, and the trailer for a movie that never was, Shazaam, featuring Sinbad.
Oh, and he’s taller than that sheep trophy now.
